Sorry, no Japanese title this time.
Before anything, I said in my last journal entry that I wanted to open requests. But with what happened yesterday... To sum it up, the students were making a protest outside of the university. The Military Police showed up and... well, the final result was as follows: about six or seven burned cars in the parking, the library burned as well, and six students injured (thankfully none of them fatally). I don't know why, but yesterday in the morning, something told me "don't go, don't go". I don't know if it was a feeling, or some kind of guardian angel wispering to my ear, but whatever it was... it saved my hide.
More than angry, as I probably should be, what I am now is SCARED. Yes, I'm not ashamed to admit that I have fear. It's not wrong to have a sense of self-preservation, is it? It's not gonna help me (or anybody else, for that matter) at all if I go out there and get myself shot by a stray bullet.
So well, would you mind to wait, say, one or two more days before I officially open them? If only to get over the shock. Besides, after this, it most certainly will take a while before things can get to a degree of "normality" around here.

RIP Granny.../Adios abuelita...
English/Inglés I know I haven't been active on the site for quite a while, and I hate to come and post bad news, but I hope you will understand. This has just struck me and my family, so I give myself the right to vent. Today, at 4:15 pm, my dear grandma Nicolasa Baptista, due to complications related to the Covid-19, passed away. She was the last one of my grandparents, and the last one among her siblings. She was what we could call the family's matriarch since I can remember, one of the kindest and most loved people not just by us, but also by everyone living in this neighborhood. She was everything you could hope for in a grandma: kindhearted and caring to all of us, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, but also scary when she was lecturing us. She was the strongest person I ever met, mainly due to her spirit, and even her age (89) didn't stop her from helping us with the cleaning and gardening tasks at thome. But in the past few weeks... well, obviously things got
Script format/formato script
English/Inglés How's it going? Okay, I hadn't had any chance to write any more venting articles, and this time around I finally found a topic to talk about. This'll be much briefer than others I've discussed, but I decided to touch it up since in the past days, some people have requested that I read their stories, but I reject them when I get the preliminary view and see they're written in script format, as if they were theatre plays. This isn't meant to offend anybody who writes or reads in that format, but beyond the typical critique of "professional writing shouldn't be this way", I'd like to explain why I don't like reading stories of this kind. Why I don't read script fics? Beforehand, and for whomever doesn't know or isn't familiar with the term, what does "script format" mean? Basically, it's that writing style where the speaking character's name precedes their dialogue, like in the script of a movie, theatre play, etc., and occassionally adding notes in parenthesis to clear
Rehashes, retellings, AUs
English/Inglés Hey again, peoples. So, after an extended period of inactivity, here I am again with another topic I've only touched superficially in several of my past venting articles, though more than venting, this time the reason to post this comes from the fact that I have plans to begin a story of this kind, and I want to avoid falling into the typical traps most writers do. You'll see soon enough what I mean. Without further ado, let's get started: * * * AUs, retellings or rehashes in fanfiction * * * I think any fan worth their salt at some point, with their favorite stories, wished that things had gone differently. The most common ones tend to be: a certain character who died in canon survives (or conversely, killing off one they dislike and/or got away from their punishment scot-free), to make official the pairing we like, to give the protagonist an "edge" that makes things a bit easier in the beginning, etc. Some have even gone further to write these stories to show what
And Eclipse is here.../Y aqui esta el Eclipse
English/Inglés So well, the Eclipse is finally here, despite all the complaining, protesting, whinning and all. The layout is a little confusing, I admit it, but... guess I'll have to eventually adapt to it. Anyway, this journal wasn't for anything in particular, just a test to see how hard it would be to write new entries. But if anybody wants to talk about something, I'll be around for a bit. See ya!
